Get to know Court...

Hello lovelies! It’s Courtney! I am a tall, brown eyed, freckled teenage girl who is still working on finding her place out here in this chaotic world. I am very new to the blogging game, but I am very excited to get started because I always have so much to say. So, without further adu, here is the super boring introduction about me that I know you’re insanely excited to read! Haha.

Here is everything you need to know about me!

My two very favorite escapes are dancing and working out. I dance because it allows me to forget about the real world and disappear from reality for a while, it helps me to express myself and to keep me sane. I originally started to work out because of the image that society reflects on us girls/women, I was made fun of because my body didn’t fit that particular image. Working out has given me confidence and has helped me to get rid of those awful insecurities that I had about my body. I no longer care about what people think about my body, even though it still doesn’t match what society says a woman’s body should look like. I do it for me, and only me. It truly has changed my life.
My fitness journey has lead me to want to inspire others, teach self-love, and empower women. I want to help women to feel comfortable with themselves in their skin, and to recognize their beauty, no matter their shape or size.

I have a strange obsession with words and love. The way words are strung together, the way they roll off tongues in all languages, and the way they are put to music to invoke one’s emotions. They amaze me, to say the least. Love is the most incomprehensible, most indescribable, and most powerful thing that I have ever experienced. It truly is the most incredible thing, I want nothing more than to share my love with the world.

I absolutely love spending time with my small family of 13, we’re really crazy and loud, and we all drive each other insane at times, but at the end of the day we love each other so much, and that’s all we really need.

I recently discovered the power of the Gospel and the power of the LDS church. I have found truth and that is the most comforting thing. I am slowly (but surely) gaining a knowledge of God’s plan for me.

Some of my (hidden) talents include, being able to have a conversation with my siblings using movie quotes, every quote from a different movie. (Okay, I may be exaggerating a little bit, but I really can quote movies like you would not believe.) I sleep a lot. Some would say it is not a talent, but I’m not a very talented person so I consider it a talent.

I’ll be posting every Friday about anything and everything really. Anywhere from thoughts, analogies, and ideas, to makeup tutorials, work out or stretching videos and tips! Also, I just started my own personal blog, so feel free to "ceep" up with me on that! http://ceepingupwithcourt.blogspot.com/

An intro....

Hello all, I’m Hailey! I pretty much have two parts that make up my personality: First, there’s the part of me that wants to wear flannel shirts and hiking boots, drive in a Jeep, and go on adventures. But then, there’s that side of me that just wants to listen to Il Divo in my sundress and sandals -the “picture of elegance”. I couldn’t give up either one of them, and I don’t plan to. I have a fantastic, crazy mane of hair, I’m pretty darn tall, I have a fondness for old-fashioned things, and I absolutely love creating, and being surrounded by beauty. I love reading, I am passionate about organizing, and to say that I “like” music would be a lie because I feel that music is a part of my soul. One of my all-time favorite songs is I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking for, by U2 (this is probably because it is on one of my favorite movies: Runaway Bride). I have relationships with music through playing the piano and singing. One of my dreams is to play the guitar (fingers crossed this will happen soon). A few years ago, I had a really hard battle with depression (which I won, and am still trying to win every day). Because of my experience, I was led to realize part of my mission in life: to help people find happiness and to live in positivity and love, versus negative judgment about others, or themselves. I feel called to address the problems that plague the individual. Right now I am striving to become a homemaker, so that those who find their way to my doorstep (whether they are my family or not), come away more assured of their worth and their ability to benefit the world through their unique gifts and abilities. Here on the blog I'll post my thoughts on "life issues" (think depression, self-acceptance, happiness, and that kind of thing). I also love sharing inspiring quotes, songs, etc. Who knows what other random things will need to be shared! :) I’ll be posting every Thursday! xo ~Hailey

Hello from Liv

Hi guys! I'm Olivia and I am quite exuberant about writing my first post here on the Overall Blog.
I personally enjoy lists, so here's a list of things about me:

1. Words are my #1 passion. Nothing is more magical to me than a well-crafted story, and poetry is the language my soul speaks. I dream of being a novelist and famous writer one day.

2. I love music SO much, and I'm usually obsessed with a certain song or artist to the point where I'm listening to it on repeat. I love to sing, and it takes me straight to my happy place.

3. I dream of traveling the world one day and gaining an education by experiencing the different cultures of the earth.

4. My proudest accomplishment is the fact that I directed a Shakespeare play last spring with a group of twelve amazing youth as my actors.

5. I love clothes! I believe that life's too short not to wear what you want to wear, and choosing my outfits based on what brings me the most joy is my personal fashion mantra.

6. I love performing and presenting of any kind. It allows me to connect with my audience, and it's always such a rush when you get over the nerves and just do it.

7. I have a nature obsession. I love mountains, forests, and beaches passionately. Each one has a special place in my heart and I feel most connected and happy with myself and the world when I'm out in the wilderness.

8. I love, love yoga! I have recently branched out to some other types of exercise, but yoga will always have a special place in my heart. I'm always striving for the inner peace and balance it brings into my life. Namaste.

9. I am most definitely a relationships oriented person, and my family and friends are very important to me. I love my people! I am passionate about creating meaningful connections between humans, especially in today's age where technology can make true connection difficult.

10. On the other hand, my alone time is super important to me. I'm definitely an introvert who recharges by being alone, and I've mastered the art of hanging out with myself.

I have a personal blog as well, which I'll leave the link to here if you'd like to check it out: http://pocketfulofpoetry.blogspot.com/

I'll be popping in on the Overall Blog every Wednesday. I plan on sharing some creative writing (mainly poems, but maybe some short stories too), life advice on any topic I feel brave enough to tackle, opinion essays, reviews and recommendations, hair tutorials, maybe some recipes and basically just a little bit of everything. I'm so excited to get started sharing with all of you!

♥ My Introduction ♥

Hello, everyone! I'm AmberSkye, and I am so excited to be here on the Overall Blog!!

I'm a girl with a big imagination, always daydreaming and thinking about magic. I'm extremely introverted and shy, so I only talk when I'm comfortable with the people around me, or passionate about the subject. I tend to sit in the corner and observe everything with wide eyes.

I've been homeschooled my whole life, and I absolutely love my family. I've always had a strong relationship with my parents and siblings.

I absolutely LOVE to write! I find it a fantastic way of expressing myself in a very organized and powerful way. I believe that writing has really impacted our world for the better.

I'm also very bookish. I constantly crave a book in my hands. As soon as a new book arrives, I am usually the first person with it in my hands.

I love nature, the outdoors, plants, and animals. I love just lying on the grass and staring up at the sky with my fluffy, black-and-white cat at my side.

I've always been creative. And I believe that we are all creative in our own, unique way. Crafting is my therapy. It really strokes my anal side.

Yes, I'm very anal. Or what some may call “a perfectionist.” It can be a blessing and a curse. I love keeping things neat and clean, but I also like being in control of the situation. And if I'm not in control of the situation, I get anxiety. I tend to obsess over things that really aren't needed to be obsessed over.

I love to dance! Specifically ballet. I love being able to train my body into moving in a very graceful and purposeful way. I can even dance in pointe shoes – or on one's toes.

I am an extremely awkward person! I've definitely gotten better about it over the course of my life, but I'm still terrible at keeping a constant conversation and acting confident.
And that is completely okay. It's what makes me human, and it's one of the reasons I am able to sympathize easily with others :)

If you haven't noticed already, I tend to be quite positive. I choose to look on the bright side of things. But I'm not always this way, it's something I'm still learning to do.

I will be posting on Tuesday, and I will be posting my favorite inspirational quotes, book recommendations, and sharing creativity prompts/warm ups.
I might post about my crafts and projects, or even the famous awkward event of the day - just to keep things real ('cause I'm sure everyone will be able to laughingly relate!)

xoxo,
     AmberSkye

Greetings from Ruthie!

Hello, darlings!

I'm Ruthie, and I'll be here every Monday! I'm really excited to share the things I love with all you awesome people here on the Overall Blog.

I just want you all to get to know me a bit, so here's 10 cool things about me!

1. I really, really love my family. My parents and siblings are the most wonderful, adorable people I could ever ask for. They're the best!

2. I really love my family...again. I love doing genealogy, finding old pictures, stories, and documents, and bringing my ancestors to life.

3. I play the piano. My favorite piece to play is Shostakovich's Piano Concerto no. 2 (the second movement is my favorite).

4. I love Captain America a little too much... 😍 (also the rest of Marvel but he's the best, in my mind)

5. I love to read. I'll read basically anything I'm handed. I've always loved historical fiction and history the most, but I also really enjoy any kind of fantasy that has its own major universe (Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, any Brandon Sanderson book).

6. My favorite kind of food is any kind of fruit except bananas. Fruit is SO. DELICIOUS.

7.  I strongly dislike being cold to any degree and love the summer so, so much.

8. I love to talk. A lot. Many of my poor, sweet friends will be forced out of courtesy to listen to my hour-long spiel about topics like politics, Captain America, whichever book I just finished, funny stories, and my really cute little brother. You all are saints, dear friends! 😂 I also love to discuss interesting topics so I can see the other person's perspective and gain a higher understanding of the subject.

9. I have the best friends I could ever ask for. They're all so caring, kind, compassionate, strong, determined, and have a great vision of what they and those around them can become. I love them so much.

10. I have a soft spot in my heart for liberty and patriotism. I love my country and its founders SO. MUCH.

Well, there you have it. 10 things about me!

Now, you might be wondering... "Ruthie, why are you here on the Overall Blog?"

I'm here so that I can help inspire other teenage girls to be their best selves, to find personal beauty and power, and to follow their life's mission. I'll be blogging about quotations and people that inspire me, cool events in my life, interesting things I learn, things that help me when I'm feeling down, some DIY crafts (which will be really interesting because I'm not crafty in the least), and probably a little Captain America.

I'd like to challenge all of you to write 10 awesome things about yourself! We all have so much beauty within... let's appreciate it!

Much love,

Ruthie
